In this role, you will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components that operate on 12-volt power within emergency response vehicles. Your expertise will ensure these vehicles are equipped with reliable communication, lighting, and safety systems vital for emergency operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience working with vehicle electrical systems to support our mission of providing safe and dependable emergency vehicles. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair 12-volt electrical systems including lighting, sirens, communication devices, and other specialized equipment on emergency vehicles. Use hand tools and power tools to perform wiring, mounting, and component installation tasks accurately. Conduct vehicle maintenance procedures related to electrical systems to ensure optimal performance. Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults and verify system integrity. Maintain detailed records of repairs, installations, and inspections for each vehicle. Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform routine inspections of electrical components to identify potential issues before they impact vehicle operation. Follow manufacturer specifications and safety protocols during all installation and repair activities. Requirements Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on vehicle electrical systems. Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and crimpers. Experience with vehicle maintenance procedures specific to emergency or service vehicles. Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a workshop environment. Familiarity with electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting purposes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with a proactive approach to repairs and diagnostics.
