Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education (Masters preferred).Valid Vermont teaching licensure (or eligibility) in Early Childhood/Elementary EducationDemonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practicesExperience with differentiated instruction and proficiency-based learning systemsStrong understanding of social-emotional learning (SEL) and whole-child instructionAbility to analyze student data and adjust instruction to meet individual needsEffective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleaguesCommitment to equity and inclusive practices in a diverse learning environmentExperience integrating technology and project-based learning into instructionAbility to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conductSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in all topics Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including intervention and enrichmentImplement proficiency-based learning practices, focusing on student growth rather than gradesIncorporate project-based learning and hands-on experiences to deepen understandingIntegrate social-emotional learning into daily instruction and classroom routinesCreate a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social growthEstablish clear expectations for behavior and reinforce positive, prosocial behaviorsBuild strong relationships with students to support engagement and belongingMonitor student progress, use data to inform instruction and provide targeted supportMaintain accurate records of student achievement and growthCommunicate student progress regularly with familiesCollaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to meet student needsParticipate in IEP, EST, and other student support meetings as neededMaintain consistent, positive communication with families Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planningReflect on instructional practices and pursue continuous professional growthUphold school and district policies, procedures, and valuesSupport school-wide initiatives, events, and community engagement opportunitiesActively contribute to the positive culture of Wallingford Elementary SchoolSupport the schools mission of developing kind, engaged, and resilient learnersSimilar remote jobs
