Recovery House is a regional leader, providing the highest quality inpatient addiction treatment services for adults. We offer a series of structured programs that provide effective, compassionate treatment for individuals dealing with all forms of chemical dependency. These include addiction to alcohol, prescription drugs, heroin, cocaine, and other drugs. Recovery house is a 34 bed, in-patient, medical detox and treatment unit for adults, age 18 and up. The Overnight Nurse serves as a member of the Medical Services Team providing screening, triage, crisis intervention, medical services, case coordination, and education. Nurses utilize best practices to engage and help motivate patients to commit to treatment and to assist patients in identifying and problem-solving individual and systemic barriers to treatment. Experience with the Substance Use population preferred.

Positions available:

This position is 3 x 12-hour shifts 7:30 p.m.

m. plus a shift report that usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes. Per Diem shifts available with mandatory monthly 2 shift pick up Duties include: Evaluate detoxification needs of alcohol/drug patients using the CIWA (Clinical Indicators Withdrawal from Alcohol) and COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) evaluation tools and provide appropriate interventions based on the results Provide and document patient education regarding diagnosis, medication and/or medical treatment as indicated. Complete comprehensive initial nurse assessment for participants being admitted and provide on-going nursing Patient assessments for adverse reactions to medication. Administer prescribed oral and injectable medications as defined by departmental policies and procedures and follow up with the patient per program policies and procedures to determine client response to medication and enhance medication compliance. Maintain correctly stocked medication inventory, ensure safety of medications/supplies, keep an accurate log of reports of medications, and communicate with pharmacy representatives as needed. Seek consultation from medical director, clinical coordinator or other members of the management team for direction when not clear about documentation and or procedures. Communicate concise and appropriate information throughout assigned shift with supervisors, managers and other team members. Assure that medication order forms and medication administration forms are properly completed according to clinical record standards. Respond and comply with all administrative/managerial e-mail communication within the requested time frame. Full-time Pay is based on education, experience in the nursing field, and experience with the SUD or similar population. There is a $2/hour shift differential for overnight shifts.
