2 Phlebotomists needed for a 4 Day drawing fair in Massena, NY 5/18-5/21

This is a contract position for a 4 day drawing fair located in Massena, NY from 5/18-5/21. Between the hours of 5:30am-11:00am. We are looking for two highly skilled phlebotomists as the expected volume is 75-100 draws per day. Job duties include but are not limited to the following Collects, handles, and receives specimens with knowledge regarding age specific laboratory needs of a neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient. Performs routine and advanced venipuncture and urine collections according to

standards. Treats patients with respect and is considerate of their physical condition during drawing. Follow proper patient identification procedures. Collects high quality specimens in a timely manner, using established phlebotomy techniques. Accurately labels and properly handles specimens. Completes the requisitions based on physician's orders. Documents date and time of collection. Is knowledgeable of all the procedures pertaining to blood drawing (order of draw, choice of tubes, fasting requirements, universal precautions, etc. and the post- draw treatment of the specimens (cooling, storage, centrifugation). Prepares specimens for transport to the clinical laboratory. Maintains accurate records and logs. Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills. Must be able to handle detailed work and maintain a pleasant demeanor while under pressure and stress. Follows procedures for proper waste management.

Pay:
