Full Job Description Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating a hands-on, developmentally appropriate classroom that fosters early learning, social growth, and a love of school. This role focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, math, and social development while supporting the whole child. Teachers are responsible for executing the mission and vision of the school by ensuring that all students grow academically and demonstrate strong character. This includes delivering high-quality, data-driven instruction, supporting diverse learners, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure all students receive the support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
Implement state learning standards, school curriculum, and assessments Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons across core subject areas Create a classroom environment that supports exploration, play-based learning, and positive behavior Submit weekly lesson plans in advance for feedback Use a variety of teaching methods (hands-on activities, storytelling, movement, group learning) Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed Maintain accurate records of student performance and development Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress Implement classroom management strategies and build a strong classroom community Collaborate with colleagues, including special education staff, to support all learners Integrate age-appropriate technology to enhance engagement and learning Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom Participate in meetings, professional development, and school-wide events Assist with arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties
Desired Skills:
Experience with digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.). Familiarity with science and social studies-based educational apps and tools (e.g., BrainPOP, Discovery Education, or interactive science simulations). Willingness to explore and learn new technologies to enrich the learning experience for students.
