Job Description

McKean County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of 911 Coordinator within the Department of Emergency Services.
Position Summary:
The 911 Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration and day-to-day operations of the McKean County 911 Emergency Communications Center under the direction of the DES Director. Responsibilities include oversight of training, scheduling, quality assurance, CAD administration support, public safety communications coordination, project implementation, and emergency management support functions.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with the daily operations of the 911 Center Coordinating and administering dispatcher training programs Scheduling personnel and tracking certifications Assisting with CAD administration and technology projects Maintaining quality assurance programs and employee performance reviews Assisting with annual reports, planning documents, and budget input Serving as Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for CLEAN Supporting emergency management and EOC operations when needed Participating in public education and outreach activities
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a 911 Telecommunicator OR seven (7) years in an active public safety role Ability to pass background requirements associated with public safety communications and CLEAN access Valid driver's license Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work on-call and respond during emergencies
Preferred Qualifications:
GIS experience helpful Experience in training, QA/QI, CAD administration, or emergency management preferred Knowledge of public safety communications systems and operations
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate must maintain required certifications and meet Pennsylvania 911 Coordinator standards, including applicable ICS coursework and industry training requirements.
Pay:
$52,500.00 - $58,000.00 per year
