Job Description
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required)
- 3-5 years of experience in public or private accounting
- Public housing accounting experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of housing authority financial practices and budgeting procedures preferred
- Experience with YARDI or similar accounting software strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills Essential Duties & Responsibilities Tenant Accounting & Reporting
- Manage all tenant accounting functions
- Review Tenant Accounts Receivable (TAR) reports for monthly submission
- Review and analyze monthly management reports; investigate and explain variances
- Produce quarterly reports for RBC and monthly reports for Virginia Housing
- Analyze delinquency reports and coordinate with Housing Management on collections Accounts Payable
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable operations
- Research and resolve discrepancies within scope of authority
- Administer company credit card program and ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Maintain vendor and landlord records, including W-9s and system data accuracy (YARDI)
- Reconcile A/P and accrued liabilities during monthly close
- Process annual 1099 filings (including HAP payments) within required timelines
- Close A/P module monthly General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Supervise and participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare journal entries and analyze trial balances and financial statements
- Prepare Capital Fund Program (CFP) drawdown documentation (LOCCS)
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Record and review federal, state, and local revenues accurately
- Prepare management fee invoices and HAP utilization/forecast reports
- Support annual audit preparation and compliance reporting
- Prepare board reports and monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Professional Responsibilities
- Support departmental workflow and assist with staff training and cross-training
- Maintain positive, professional interactions with residents and staff
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive financial and resident information
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and sound decision-making

Pay:
