Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support core financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Troy, Michigan. This role will oversee key accounting activities, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and help maintain strong financial controls across the close and audit cycle. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in accounting systems, month-end processes, and preparation of financial information for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with established standards.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to sustain a smooth and timely close process.
• Manage month-end closing activities, including analysis of balances, resolution of discrepancies, and coordination of deadlines across the accounting function.
• Produce recurring and ad hoc financial reports that support leadership decision-making and operational visibility.
• Coordinate audit preparation efforts by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and supporting the completion of financial statement audits.
• Utilize accounting software systems to monitor transactions, improve reporting accuracy, and maintain reliable financial data.
• Assess accounting workflows and recommend process improvements that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and internal controls.
