Job Description:
Accounting Specialist We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Specialist opportunity with a highly successful SaaS organization located in Boston, MA. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing accounts receivable (AR), cash applications, billing, collections, journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes (month-end and year-end). The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of hands-on relevant accounting experience and will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and collaborative. This is a 3+ month contract-to-hire opportunity, paying $35-$45/hour (depending on experience). The Accounting Specialist must be able to work a hybrid model (on-site 3 days/week and remote 2 days/week).
Responsibilities:
Maintain accounts receivable (A/R) subledgers, including retrieval of source documents, validation, and reconciliation against transactions posted in the accounting system Manage cash applications of cash received to customer invoices Research and resolve discrepancies Manage collection proceedings and communicate with customers to pay via lockbox or ACH Perform weekly rebate reporting and scan checks into the bank Prepare and book journal entries, including standard monthly accounting entries and statistical metrics Assist with month-end closings and year-end closings Reconcile balance sheet accounts Analyze AR subsidiary ledgers and identify variances Prepare for financial audits and bank audits Collaborate with the accounting team, customers, management, auditors, support staff, and outside stakeholders Support special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting 3+ years of hands-on relevant accounting experience Strong experience managing accounts receivable, cash applications, collections, and billing Great communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently Excellent time-management, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Solid technical skills (MS Office Suite, Salesforce, ERP systems) Previous experience using ERP systems, preferably NetSuite For immediate consideration, interested and qualified candidates should send their resume to Jenny at jfriedman@daleyaa.com.
