Job Description:

We're working with a well?established professional services firm in Emeryville that's looking to add an Accounting Supervisor to their team. This is a hands?on role for someone who enjoys being involved in the day?to?day accounting and payroll process. Key Responsibilities Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and invoicing Process and prepare payroll for salaried employees , including deductions and reporting (401(k), union dues, dependent care, garnishments, ACA forms, W?2 reconciliation) Maintain the general ledger , including journal entries, payroll entries, balancing, and reporting Manage trust bank account activity , including deposits, disbursements, documentation, and payee setup Respond to internal requests related to accounting and payroll matters Review and oversee AP, AR, and billing workflows , identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience with strong exposure to GL, AP, AR, billing, and payroll Hands?on experience with ADP or a similar payroll system Strong understanding of general accounting and bookkeeping principles Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills Experience with legal or professional services environments preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
