Job Description

Job Title:
Accounts Payable Specialist About Our Company H&A Farms is founded by 4th generation family-growers with operations in Orange, Lake, and Levy counties. It is a leading provider in the farming and packing industry, managing more than 1,000 acres and packing fruit for more than 60 growers throughout Florida and Georgia. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves performing daily data entry, account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, processing invoices, and assisting with financial reporting. The Accounts Payable Specialist will collaborate with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data and support the month-end and year-end closing processes. The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs. Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors. Analyzing workflow processes. Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors. Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures. Processing due invoices for payments. Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges. Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.
Accruals Management:
Record and maintain accurate accruals for both revenues and expenses in accordance with accounting principles and standards. Ensuring all accruals and adjustments are recorded correctly.
Reconciliations:
Perform account reconciliations for accrued expenses and revenues, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Journal Entries:
Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments as required.
Compliance:
Ensure all accrual accounting processes comply with relevant accounting regulations, standards, and internal policies.
Month-End and Year-End Closures:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing accruals and making necessary adjustments.
Audit Support:
Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits related to accrual accounting.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline the accrual process and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting systems and workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions and alignment with the company's financial goals.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in English is required for this position. Proven experience in accrual accounting or a related accounting role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation:
Pay:
The compensation for this position is based on experience, with a range of $22.00-$26.00 per hour.
