Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description - Accounts Payable Specialist Purpose of Position Manage the timely processing of all vendor invoices and review of statements. Areas of Responsibility 1.

VENDOR INVOICES

Review incoming emails; save incoming invoices to vendor file. Prepare invoices for data entry; verify invoices for accuracy. Take advantage of any discount or other cost savings on payment terms. Correspond with sales dept. and/or logistics dept. on freight variances and request approval for adjustments in payment due. Attain credit notes from carriers due to claims. Review and reconcile vendor statements with special attention to invoices not received. Resolve past due payment issues. Inform Logistics as to the need to increase credit limit of Transportation Company. 2.

FOREIGN PAYMENT

Bi-weekly, prepare all invoices pending for payment in foreign currency. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education / Associate degree with a preference for a major in accounting, ideal.

Experience:

At least 2 years of Accounts Payable experience required.

Capabilities:

Working knowledge of MS Office (excel and word). SAP a plus. Detail oriented. Strong organizational and communication skills. Team oriented.

Languages:
