DIRECTOR POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the organizing, implementing, evaluating, and facilitating of activities program in accordance with current existing federal, state, and local standards, as well as our established policies and procedures, to assure that the spiritual development, emotional, recreational, and social needs of the patient are met/ maintained on an individual basis. Responsibilities:

Listed below is an outline of the duties and responsibilities that you will be required to perform as Activities Aide. You are delegated authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out your assigned duties. Even though your job description is broad, every effort has been made to make this outline as complete as possible. However, we must emphasize that you MAY be required to perform other related duties and activities. 1. Assist in organizing, implementing, evaluating, and facilitating the activity programs of this facility as directed. 2. Assist in maintaining a good working rapport with staff of other departments within the facility to meet the needs of the residents. 3. Assist in administering and following all department policies and procedures. 4. Review department policies and procedures and follow all directives. 5. Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for identifying the spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs of the residents as directed. 6. Make written and oral reports/ recommendations as directed to the activities director concerning the operation of the activity department. 7. Report all incidents/ accidents immediately. 8. Report all unsafe/ hazardous conditions/ equipment immediately. 9. Assure that established safety regulations are followed at all times. 10. Assist in encouraging residents to attend activity programs. 11. Implement activity calendar by facilitating various activities such as bingo, socials, exercise groups, bowling, poetry readings, movies, etc. 12. Provide assistance to residents by transporting them to, and from the activity program in the resident's designated assistive device such as wheelchairs, broda chairs, and Geri chairs. 13. Assist staff on off-site trips with residents 14. Provide residents with one to one conversation visits for sensory and social stimulation. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions 1. Works in well-lit/ventilated areas. 2. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing wheelchairs, and moving intermittently during working hours. 3. Subject to frequent interruptions. 4. Subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, etc. 5. Communicates with nursing personnel, and other department supervisors as directed/needed. 6. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary. 7. Attend and participate in continuing educational programs as directed. 8. Subject to falls, burns from equipment, infectious diseases, substance orders, etc. throughout the workday. 9. Be economical and careful with supplies and equipment.

Pay:

$11.00 - $14.00 per hour
