The Activity Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the Activity Program. This position requires a great deal of creativity and flexibility. The Activity Coordinator must be able to provide direct care and supervision for residents when necessary. The Activity Coordinator assures residents are kept safe during activities and items that are safety hazards are strictly controlled. The Activity Coordinator assists the direct care staff in keeping the residents involved in the unit socially, cognitively, and recreationally. The Activity Coordinator ensures that scheduled programming is carried out weekly or as scheduled. Some weekends and holidays are required. Must possess effective written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, stable emotional make-up, creative, caring, able to work under stress. Professional conduct, honoring boundaries, setting limits and maintaining confidentiality are a must. Must be able to plan, implement and evaluate an ongoing activity program. Must be able to order and maintain the supplies necessary to support the activity program. Must be able to work within a budget.TASK LETTER CODE PRIMARY DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of recreation and leisure programs to meet the assessed needs and capabilities of the residents in the long-term nursing unit in coordination with other team members B Provides a variety of activities to meet individual resident needs, and establish leisure educational programs C Assesses and documents resident's abilities and needs and records resident participation so this can be analyzed in relation to needs, interest and past lifestyle D Attends care plan meetings and other appropriate meetings as necessary E Conference with other hospital personnel, superiors and family regarding resident interests, needs and limitations, as well as the availability of resources F Assures that all activities conform to the criteria of federal, state and local accreditation and licensing agencies or organizations G Compiles a monthly social program calendar and distributes to hospital personnel and residents H Coordinates programs with other departments in the hospital and interfaces with all personnel as appropriate I Uses community resources in the development of programs J Plans, organizes and directs the recruitment, training and utilization of volunteer hospital workers K Delegates appropriate activity tasks to Activities Aide or CNAs L Maintains a clean, safe environment for recreation and returns equipment, tools and supplies to proper location after use, clean and in good condition M Communicates clearly and tactfully with residents and their families N As a member of the health team, maintains harmonious relationships with the unit and co-workers providing support and assistance to co-workers to ensure quality patient care. O Transports residents to local appointments and out-of-facility activities via the facility van. P Assumes the responsibility for the care and maintenance of the facility pets Q Maintains confidentiality of all patient/resident/staff information R Documents in EMR and MDS sections as required. Updates and reviews care plans in Point Click Care as needed S Meetings/Communication (in person and virtually) with Activities Consultant to receive guidance in implementing activity procedures and the review of all procedures being performed by the activity coordinator as needed until certification is obtained T Activity Coordinator will review all documentation with Consultant, and Consultant will approve/sign off all program activities and documentation U V Performs other related duties as assigned or requestedW X Y Z POSITION QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalentMINIMUM EXPERIENCE
REQUIREDCERTIFICATIONS
Activity Certification (or willing to work toward certification) Current BLS (CPR) certification Valid and unrestricted Nevada drivers license with excellent driving record/no restrictionsPREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
