Send job Job Details Overview Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Jewelry 1 for the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to fundamental jewelry fabrication techniques and design principles. Responsibilities Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and studio instruction in jewelry making. Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria. Cover metal fabrication techniques, such as sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and forming. Introduce the safe use of jewelry studio tools and equipment. Hold office hours to support students outside of class.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
MFA degree in jewelry or metals or BFA degree with a concentration in jewelry or metals combined with a minimum of five years of recent professional experience. Understanding of health and safety regulations, both Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Institutional. Ability to monitor safety procedures required to handle gas, acids, kilns, resins, and power equipment. Comprehensive skills in soldering, casting, etching, and enameling. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to teaching excellence.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience at the college level. Experience with diverse student populations. Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft, Western Monmouth and Higher Education Centers. Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
