We are hiring for two locations. Candidates must have a strong connection to the Parish including a deep understanding of the local community, a commitment to service, and a demonstrated passion for advancing economic mobility and community impact. St. Bernard Parish (Arabi) WB-Jefferson Parish (Gretna) The Administrative & VITA Assistant provides comprehensive administrative, client service, and programmatic support to ensure the effective operation of Financial Capability services. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients, volunteers, and community partners; supports intake, scheduling, documentation, and data tracking; and maintains accurate, confidential records in compliance with UWSELA and IRS standards. The position assists with volunteer coordination, tax preparation operations, outreach and workshop support, quality assurance, and grant-related administrative tasks, while also supporting financial tracking, reporting, and cross-site collaboration. The Administrative & VITA Assistant performs related duties as assigned to support program effectiveness, compliance, and participant success.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
: 1. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in client services, case management, program support, or administrative coordination. 2. Experience working with diverse populations, including low- to moderate-income households. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), case management software, and data reporting systems. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including case notes, reports, and professional correspondence. 5. Must demonstrate professionalism in telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions with diverse populations. 6. Compassionate, resourceful, and culturally competent with the ability to build trust, motivate participants, and collaborate with partners. 7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate, build, and sustain relationships across diverse populations. 8. Passion for community service and a deep commitment to United Way's mission. 9. Self-motivated, quick learner, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as within a team. 10. Must maintain a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and minimum insurance coverage. 11. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive matters, responding appropriately and with discretion. 12. Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment to handle/resolve details and matters not requiring the personal attention of the supervisor. 13. Maintain unquestioned confidentiality with sensitive participant, financial, and personnel matters. 14. Must be available to work a regular Monday-Friday work week with occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability as needed.Work Environment:
