Job Description

Placer County is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative leader to serve as Director of Child Support Services (DCSS). The Placer County Department of Child Support Services ranked #1 in the federal child support performance measures in the State of California for the past seven years and has received the prestigious 2022 Platinum Program Award from the Western Intergovernmental Child Support Engagement Council. The ideal candidate will be a value-driven leader who inspires trust, builds high-performing teams, and leads with integrity, accountability, and strategic vision. They will foster collaboration, develop others, and bring strong communication skills, political acumen, and programmatic knowledge. The successful candidate will build on the Department's tradition of excellence while leading innovation and results. Candidates will have five years of increasingly responsible experience in a public Child Support Services agency, including three years of administrative and management responsibility, along with a relevant master's degree and/or Juris Doctorate. The successful candidate will demonstrate innovation in service delivery and a commitment to both people and performance.
