Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and organized Church Secretary/Administrator to manage church office operations, support administrative tasks, and enable clear communication within our community. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Word) and MailChimp. This is a part-time position -20 hours per week. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and members, managing front desk operations and multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Maintain church calendars, scheduling meetings, events, and appointments while ensuring effective calendar management. Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, proofreading documents, and maintaining accurate records. Utilize Realm (Automated Church Systems) for bookkeeping tasks and manage financial records as needed. Provide customer support by addressing inquiries from church members and visitors in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of church publications, newsletters, and other communications using Microsoft 365 and MailChimp.. Support administrative functions such as organizing meetings, taking minutes, and coordinating with various church committees. Ensure the office environment is organized and equipped with necessary supplies for smooth operations. Experience Proven experience in an office environment with a focus on administrative support or clerical tasks. Familiarity with Automated Church Systems for bookkeeping purposes is preferred but not mandatory. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Word) and MailChimp. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while demonstrating time management capabilities. Previous experience in customer service roles is essential.
