DESCRIPTION
The Career Services Manager serves as a strategic leader and operational architect for Edmonds College's career development and employment initiatives. Reporting directly to the Dean of Workforce and Career Mobility Initiatives, this role is pivotal in bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional economic mobility. The Manager is responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of comprehensive career services that empower all students to navigate the modern labor market. This includes leading the Career Action Center team, cultivating high-value industry partnerships, and integrating career readiness into the student lifecycle. Acting as a key contributor to the Workforce and Career Mobility leadership team, the Manager ensures that all initiatives align with the college's mission for student success. The ideal candidate will be a visionary advocate for workforce development, adept at leveraging data to drive outcomes and building scalable systems that support students from enrollment to sustainable employment. This is an exempt position reporting to the Dean Workforce & Career Mobility Initiatives. Applications received by July 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST will receive priority consideration. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Visionary Planning:
Design and execute a multi-year strategic plan for the Career Action Center that aligns with the Dean of Workforce and Career Mobility's institutional goals.
Team Supervision:
Recruit, train, and provide performance evaluations for student employees, and administrative staff.
Budget Oversight:
Manage the departmental budget, ensuring responsible allocation of funds for events, technology platforms, and marketing.
Policy Development:
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for job postings, recruitment ethics, and student confidentiality.
Business Development:
Proactively identify and engage local, regional, and national employers to increase job and internship postings specifically for Edmonds College students.
Recruitment Events:
Plan and execute a dual-tier event strategy, encompassing both large-scale, campus-wide career fairs and highly targeted, boutique networking events tailored to specific industry sectors (e.g., healthcare, STEM, trades).
Workforce Trends:
Monitor regional labor market data to pivot career programming toward high-growth, high-wage sectors.
Service Innovation:
Oversee the delivery of 1-on-1 coaching, including resume development, interview preparation, and salary negotiation.
Work-Integrated Learning:
Facilitate the expansion of internship opportunities in coordination with academic departments. Ensure services are accessible to non-traditional students, English language learners, and marginalized populations to bridge the opportunity gap.
Technology Management:
Serve as the primary administrator for career services software (e.g., Handshake), ensuring high adoption rates among students and employers. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Human Resources, Business Administration, Career Development, or a closely related field OR three (3) years of professional, progressively responsible experience in career counseling, workforce development, corporate recruiting, human resources, or higher education student services. Minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising staff, leading project teams, or managing student workers. Experience managing projects and events

Proven ability to successfully manage relationships with customers and stakeholders.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. The ability to speak clearly on the telephone, use a computer is required. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings). Some tasks require lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. This position requires the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle. The ability to make sound judgments is essential.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION
Salary is $72,300.36 - $75,695.34 and is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.
FLSA Status:
The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire. Criminal background check.
