Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) By Mail Drop-off Print Job Save Job Job Description and Duties Under general direction of the Manager II of Fiscal Administration and Constituent Support, the Supervisor II works independently performing and managing the most varied and complex technical tasks; receiving and assigning grant or contracts requests for payment; managing and monitoring the flow of payments to ensure accurate and timely payments. The Supervisor II is the central point of contact providing supervision, direction, and implementation of procedures and the cross-training and coordination of the supervisors and analysts processing requests for fiscal administration in the Special Education Division (SED).
Duties include:
  • Supervise two Supervisor I's; coordinate fiscal administration and accountability activities within the SED
  • Monitor the state and federal budgets process, providing feedback on budget legislation, track division expenditures, and ensure a timely payment process
  • Design and monitor effective practices to state and federal special education fiscal budgeting, procurement and payments
  • Articulate these implications to SED leadership, Special Education Local Plan Areas, and local educational agencies, as necessary
  • Direct the preparation of briefs, reports, and information on policies, procedures, practices, and compliance related to special education issues across complex monitoring and accountability initiatives for the SED Director's Office, SED Unit Administrators, and other units in the California Department of Education, as appropriate.
