STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Summary of Job Classification:
Supervises and oversees the daily operations of a designated team/employees within the Clerk's Office or court division.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This is a promotional opportunity for current Colorado Judicial Branch employees. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to create, initiate, and execute innovative employee relations and programmatic initiatives as well as have a strong vision for building diverse collaborative relationships.
Supervision:
Supervises and oversees the daily operations of a designated team/employees within the Clerk's Office or court division. Assign and prioritize work tasks. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Participate in the hiring and termination processes. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Ensure daily operations are conducted efficiently within the Clerk's Office or court division.
Leadership:
Serve on the district's management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Policy Implementation:
Enforce court policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication channels with staff, management, and other stakeholders.
Training:
Facilitate training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve operational issues and conflicts promptly and effectively. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Supervises the work of assigned staff, including assigning and prioritizing work, providing guidance and coaching, participating and hiring and termination, and conducting performance evaluations. Provides input on policy development and updates processes to new rules and legislation. Provides internal and external customer service and responds to requests and concerns. Serves as a point of contact and coordinates changes in court operations. Prepares court documents and reports. Monitors, reviews, and provides efficient and effective case processing. Performs administrative functions including case management data entry, reviewing case entries, providing advanced research on complex cases, processing warrants, and balancing accounts receivable. Monitors and schedules juror summons and responds to juror correspondence and requests. Identifies and completes projects that strengthen the Court's ability to effectively serve the community. Participates in committee work and management meetings. Completes required trainings and attend meetings as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONT.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full-time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. The work performed by majority of employees is semi complex.
Human Collaboration:
Interactions may result in decisions regarding implementation of policies. Contact may involve support of controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive issues or important presentations. Contacts may involve stressful, negative interactions with the public requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to aggressive interpersonal interactions. Act & Impact of Actions:
Receives Limited Direction Employee normally perform assignments according to your own judgment, requesting Supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance reviewed periodically. Impact of actions are significant.
Knowledge & Skills:
Advanced Work requires advanced skills and advanced & extensive knowledge of work. Incumbent can handle complex tasks and translate complex nuances related to aspects of the job. Fiscal Responsibility:
May be responsible for the billing, collection and/or accounting of funds. May be responsible for the handling and balancing of cash.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Equivalency:
High School diploma or
G.E.D. OR
Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
Work Related Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in court, legal, or administrative services.
Licenses and Certifications:
None.
Physical Effort Requirements:
Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human bod. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Work Environment:
Good-Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Work Location:
Office or similar indoor environment.
