The Opportunity:

The STEM Translational Communication Center (STCC) within the College of Journalism and Communications is seeking a highly organized, customer service-oriented Part-Time Administrative Coordinator (20 hours weekly) to provide administrative and operational support. This position plays an important role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day functioning of the center while serving as a welcoming point of contact for faculty, external partners, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide office reception and visitor support. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and visitor inquiries. Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, travel, and events. Maintain meeting notes, project databases, and other office records. Assist with preparing correspondence, newsletters, reports, and presentations. Process and track purchasing, invoices, and other administrative documentation. Coordinate office supplies and maintain inventory. Assist with event logistics, registration, and attendee communication. Support special projects and center initiatives as assigned. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. One year of office, administrative, or customer service experience. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule:

Part-Time (0.50 FTE) 20 hours per week Flexible schedule based on operational needs Why Join Us? Expected Salary:

$18.00-$20.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in higher education or a university environment. Experience with UF administrative systems. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience supporting events, programs, or student services. Excellent note-taking and organizational skills. Strong professional communication skills, with a customer service mindset. Proficiency in technology and office equipment and ability to learn new tools. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
