Hiring Agency Cabinet for Economic Development | Office of the Secretary Location 500 Mero Street, 5th Floor Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Embrace the need to be a thought leader, both in terms of articulation and action taken to advance the areas within your purview forward. Own your space, vertically and horizontally, do not rely on direction, know how to carve out a path to address issues important to the Cabinet. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the energy ecosystem, including utilities, developers, and industry associations Coordinate with Commissioner and Secretary to define what areas within the energy sector and emerging industries are a priority and scope out the program of work for CED's efforts to growth these spaces in the state. Coordinate and participate in meetings with companies involved in energy and emerging industry projects Track and support engagement with organizations involved in advanced nuclear technologies, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) Draft high-quality briefing materials, including letters, presentations, talking points, and reports for Cabinet leadership. Provide timely and accurate energy and emerging industry-related data and insights, including project announcements and industry trends. Support leadership participation in meetings, conferences, and public-facing engagements related to nuclear and energy development. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the nuclear energy sector, including supply chain dynamics and major national projects. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting nuclear energy at the state and federal levels. Track incentives, policies, and competitive positioning of other states pursuing nuclear and advanced energy investments. Support implementation of initiatives such as a Kentucky Nuclear Ready Community Designation program. Assist in managing relationships with third-party consultants conducting site assessments and feasibility studies related to nuclear and emerging industry sectors. Maintain awareness of trends across the broader energy landscape, including solar, battery storage, electric vehicles, hydrogen, and traditional fuels. Analyze emerging technologies and assess their potential economic development impact. Provide insights into regional and national energy trends to inform recruitment and retention strategies. Be prepared to represent the Cabinet in public meetings on areas within your portfolio of accountabilities. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following: Being a self-starter. Strategic thinking and adaptability skills. Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills. Ability to synthesize technical and policy information into clear, actionable insights. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proactive, highly responsive work approach with an ability to identify new opportunities. Ability to work independently, but also collaborate with Cabinet staff, management, and economic development partners. Excellent time management, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to solve problems that may arise. Curiosity and initiative in tracking trends and learning about emerging industries. Comfortable making presentations for small and large groups. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, energy systems, or related field
