Job Description

Administrative Assistant
  • Intake Coordinator Access II Independent Living Center
  • St. Joseph, MO Access II Independent Living Center is seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Administrative Assistant
  • Intake Coordinator to join our team.
This position serves as the first point of contact for consumers, families, and community partners while helping individuals with disabilities connect to services and resources that support independent living. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced office environment, and can balance customer service, intake coordination, scheduling, and administrative duties with professionalism and care. Responsibilities Coordinate and complete consumer intake and referral processes Greet consumers and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls and general inquiries Schedule appointments for consumers, clinic services, and fitness center members Enter and maintain confidential consumer information and records Assist consumers with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) loans and transportation services Maintain organized documentation, reports, and office records Provide administrative and clerical support to staff and programs Serve as a resource to families, agencies, and community partners Support outreach activities, newsletters, and agency events as needed Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 2 years of office, administrative, reception, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer systems required Commitment to the philosophy of independent living and disability rights preferred Why Join Access II?
