Job Description

Bethpage counseling practice is seeking a part-time administrative assistant to join our friendly, warm and professional office. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • General office responsibilities ( answer phones/take messages, scan, fax and copy, etc.)
  • Scheduling new clients for intake appointments. Ensuring that patient demographic, insurance information, verification and eligibility have been established and documented.
  • Providing support to the clinical team and chart maintenance
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPPA regulations
  • Verifying insurance coverage for patients
  • Acting as a liaison between the billing department and clinical team
  • Maintaining email correspondence with patients and following up with patients regarding insurance issues.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems including EMR, Google Docs, Excel, Insurance Portals and Email.
  • Effectively communicate with clients using empathy, patience and confidentiality
  • General office tasks such as sorting through mail, taking out garbage, etc
  • Reconciling accounts after client has been discharged
  • Insurance credentialing support as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Directors The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, energetic, detail-oriented and organized.
Hours are Wednesday & Friday 9:00-5:00 with possibility of additional hours. Past medical or mental health office experience required. Bilingual a plus.
