As an Collector you will provide great customer service all while you locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail or telephone to solicit payment. Duties include receiving payments and posting amount to customer's account; preparing statements to credit department if customer fails to respond; initiating repossession proceedings or service disconnection; and keeping records of collection and status of accounts; will have knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA") laws and follow all company policies and procedures. manner. Essential Functions:
  • Delivers the best possible customer service to each customer.
  • Locate and monitor overdue accounts, using computers and a variety of automated systems.
  • Contact past due customers by calling their home, cell, work and references provided on their application.
  • Mails the Collection Letter if no other contact information is available.
  • Notify the Collection Manager if account has gone bad.
  • Make at least 200 out bound calls a day on average.
  • Handle both incoming calls and outbounds calls.
  • Assist customer questions regarding problems with their accounts.
  • Assist and accommodate customers that are delinquent.
  • Attempt to set up Promises to Pay.
  • Accept checks by phone, cash and Visa Debit payments.
  • Reviews the previous notes and transaction payment.
  • Keep the workstation clean and organized.
  • Only use the workstation for company use.
Other Responsibilities:
  • To assist, where required, in the cleanliness of the location.
  • Work effectively as part of our team.
  • Use the Time and Attendance program Paychex to track personal attendance.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Successfully completes all Training Modules and Test on time.
  • Will be cross train to assist the Sales department duties may include but not limited to:
  • Conduct a vehicle condition report
  • Collect and analysis income source
  • Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Inform customer regarding loan decision
  • Data entry, finalize all loan document and loan disclosure to customer
