Position Overview Our client, an established mid sized law firm, is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. This role will be responsible for managing outstanding client balances, facilitating payment resolutions, and partnering closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders to improve collections performance while maintaining strong client relationships. . Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of outstanding client accounts and follow up on overdue balances. Contact clients regarding past-due invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence. Work collaboratively with attorneys, partners, and billing teams to resolve collection issues. Research account discrepancies and coordinate resolutions to outstanding balances. Negotiate payment arrangements and monitor adherence to agreed-upon schedules. Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on account status. Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities within firm systems. Assist with collection reporting and analysis for management. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and firm policies. II. Qualifications 2+ years of collections experience required. Previous experience within a law firm, legal services organization, or professional services environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of legal billing practices and attorney-client billing processes a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent negotiation and customer service abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with legal billing or accounting software is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially. III. Preferred Skills Experience reviewing aging reports and managing high-volume collections. Ability to build rapport with clients while maintaining professionalism. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
