Position Description The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, contacting customers with overdue balances, securing payments, and providing updates to the accounting management team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a polite but firm approach, and a strong commitment to resolving outstanding debts while keeping positive customer relationships intact.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage Accounts o Monitor aging reports to identify past-due accounts and prioritize outreach. Customer Outreach o Contact customers daily via phone, email, and letters to request payment on overdue balances. Negotiate Settlements o Work with customers to establish realistic repayment schedules or payment plans. Resolve Disputes o Investigate billing discrepancies or customer complaints and coordinate with internal teams to fix them. Maintain Records o Document all collection activities, payment agreements, and status updates accurately in our billing system. Reporting o Prepare and maintain collection status reports. Requirements:
The following qualifications along with individuals' previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants: 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Associate's or bachelor's degree in finance or business a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Power BI a plus. Excellent communication skills. Strong speaking and active listening skills to handle sensitive calls professionally and clearly. Detail-oriented mindset to track multiple accounts and meet deadlines
