In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding payments from insurance providers and patients. Duties Review and analyze medical claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to identify unpaid or denied claims. Follow up on outstanding accounts by contacting insurance companies via phone, email to secure claims payments. Resubmit corrected claims for denied or rejected accounts. Maintain detailed records of collection activities, payment histories, and correspondence in medical records systems. Experience Proven experience in medical billing and collections in Substance Abuse or Mental Health. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, including claims submission, adjudication, and appeals. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding systems such as
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9/ICD-10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and billing software; experience with EMR/EHR systems is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with insurance representatives and patients. Ability to interpret complex healthcare claims data and resolve billing issues efficiently. Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail is highly desirable. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
