Credit & Collections Specialist Job Summary The Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, evaluating credit risk, collecting outstanding payments, and maintaining healthy accounts receivable. This role works closely with customers and internal departments to resolve payment issues while minimizing financial risk and ensuring timely cash collections. Key Responsibilities Review and process customer credit applications and perform credit evaluations. Establish and monitor customer credit limits based on company policies. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and identify delinquent accounts. Contact customers via phone and email to collect overdue payments. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment disputes, and account issues. Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up on outstanding balances. Maintain accurate records of customer communications and collection activities. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on collections, aging, and cash receipts. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting to resolve customer concerns. Recommend accounts for credit holds, write-offs, or third-party collections when necessary. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable credit and collection regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). 2-4 years of experience in credit, collections, and accounts receivable functions. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP systems (Sage, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
