Audit and Collections Analyst
Job Description
Job Summary The Audit & Collections Analyst plays a key role in managing employer accounts, resolving contribution delinquencies, and supporting the Fund's collections efforts. This position is primarily focused on collections, employer relations, account resolution, and delinquency management, while also supporting audit-related activities. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who is comfortable communicating with employers, attorneys, auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances and ensure obligations are met in accordance with Fund requirements, Trust Documents, policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage confidential and complex matters from initial outreach through resolution. Key ResponsibilitiesCollections & Delinquency Management Manage employer delinquency accounts and take appropriate action to resolve outstanding contributions and related issues. Communicate directly with employers regarding delinquent contributions, account balances, payment requirements, and outstanding documentation. Respond to employer inquiries and work collaboratively with employers to identify and resolve account issues. Follow up on employer responses and negotiate payment terms when appropriate. Develop and prepare repayment agreements and monitor compliance with agreed-upon payment arrangements. Print and mail

delinquency notices and follow up with employers as needed. Review progress reports to identify contractors who are delinquent in filing Monthly Payroll Reports and take appropriate follow-up action. Refer delinquent accounts to attorneys based on established guidelines. Maintain and monitor accounts assigned to legal counsel, ensuring collection activity and account status are accurately documented and updated. Provide administrative and account support to attorneys and other collection professionals involved in Fund collection efforts. Act as a Fund representative when communicating with outside attorneys, fund administrators, employers, and other collection professionals regarding payments, services, and account resolution. Process payments received for audits and delinquent contributions and ensure payments are accurately recorded. Track pension overpayments submitted for repayment and monitor their status through resolution. Identify employer overpayments and make recommendations to the Senior Audit & Collections Analyst regarding appropriate action. Audit Support Create and mail audit announcement letters and maintain accurate database and accounting records for audit tracking. Gather and provide required documentation to auditors to facilitate the completion of assigned audits. Monitor outstanding audits and follow up on incomplete or pending audits. Process completed audits in the database and communicate audit results and any delinquent contributions due to employers. Review auditor invoices for accuracy and process accordingly. Maintain accurate records of audit activity, results, payments, and outstanding balances. Communication & Account Resolution Investigate complex account issues by gathering relevant documentation and information from employers, vendors, auditors, attorneys, internal departments, and other stakeholders. Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to determine appropriate next steps for resolving issues. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive employer, participant, financial, and Fund information. Respond promptly to internal leaders and stakeholders and provide accurate information to support informed decision-making. Build and maintain productive working relationships with employers, attorneys, auditors, and other external partners. Required & Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, account resolution, delinquency management, or a related field preferred. Experience communicating directly with customers, clients, employers, or other parties regarding outstanding balances or account issues. Strong negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Strong attention to detail and ability to research and resolve discrepancies. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Ability to investigate complex issues, gather supporting documentation, and work collaboratively toward resolution. Experience working with attorneys, collection agencies, auditors, or other external professionals is a plus. Experience with Taft-Hartley Trust Funds, union benefit plans, pension funds, or Collective Bargaining Agreements is preferred. Prior audit experience is a plus but not required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred. Experience in collections and account resolution is highly valued . While familiarity with audits or Taft-Hartley Trust Funds is beneficial, we are open to candidates with strong collections experience who are motivated to learn the audit and Fund-specific aspects of the role.
