Collections Representative III:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule:
Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Hybrid Position - After the initial training period, a hybrid work model will become an option. You will be requested to work 4 days on-site and 1 day remote. Allowing for a blend of remote and onsite work based on performance and departmental needs.

As our Collections Representative III , you'll play a key role in protecting the credit union while delivering compassionate, solution-focused service to our members. You'll manage complex delinquent accounts, negotiate repayment solutions, support repossessions and bankruptcy processes, mentor teammates, and serve as a trusted resource for the Collections team. What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced collections professional who combines strong negotiation skills with empathy and professionalism. You'll be someone who can confidently navigate challenging situations, think critically, and build positive relationships while balancing member service with sound financial stewardship. What's In It For You Hybrid work flexibility after training Opportunity to mentor and support team development Career growth within a stable financial institution Collaborative and supportive team environment Meaningful work helping members achieve financial success Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits Key Responsibilities Manage early- and late-stage delinquent loan, credit card, and share accounts Negotiate repayment arrangements and recommend appropriate recovery solutions Handle complex accounts involving bankruptcies, repossessions, skip tracing, and legal referrals Process insurance and skip claims while maintaining accurate documentation Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor junior Collections Representatives Analyze collection trends and prepare operational reports Partner with internal departments and third-party vendors to improve collection strategies Ensure compliance with all applicable credit union policies and regulatory requirements Other Duties Support ongoing process improvements to increase efficiency Complete required compliance and professional development training Maintain compliance with BSA/AML and Fair Debt Collection Practices requirements Perform additional duties to support the Collections team as business needs evolve Must Haves as a Collections Representative III 3+ years of consumer collections experience Experience handling repossessions, bankruptcies, and advanced loss mitigation Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail Ability to mentor teammates and collaborate across departments High school diploma or equivalent Nice to Haves as a Collections Representative III Bilingual (Spanish) Experience working in a credit union or financial institution Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices (FDCPA), BSA/AML, and consumer lending regulations Experience preparing collection reports and identifying process improvements Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to accept calls or status inquiries.
