Cor Value is looking to fill the role of a Patient Collections Specialist. A qualified applicant will be autonomous, conscientious, meticulously organized, and able to meet the requirements below.

Position Description:

Communicate directly with patients regarding their outstanding balances from services provided. Document all calls timely and accurately in the patients account in the billing system. Creating payment plans per company policy. Accepting and processing patient payments daily. Manage outstanding self-pay accounts. Responsible for follow up on a patient balance that are assigned to a specific Work Queues based on balance age. Reviewing accounts with the final attempt for patient payment before balances are transferred to collection agency. Responsible for the processes of financial assistance, bad debt, return addresses etc. Identify timely patient refunds. Working on assigned projects from the manager. Assisting in other departments as needed.

Position Requirements:

Solid understanding of medical billing, including clearinghouse, EFTs, EOBs, and ERAs Some knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis coding preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high level of organizational skills required Excellent problem-solving skills Administrative, reporting, organizational, and record-keeping skills Attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines, etc. Effective interpersonal communication skills Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access) Epic EMR experience required, Availity clearinghouse experience a plus Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and reprioritize when necessary Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of sensitive information

Education/Previous Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Bachelor's degree preferred
