A law firm has an opening for a full-time Collections Specialist to assist with the processing and maintenance of collection accounts. This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with account information and legal documents. Responsibilities will include working with account records from initial data entry through various stages of collection and legal processing.
Responsibilities May Include:
Entering and maintaining account information Preparing documentation for suits and garnishments Verifying employment information Organizing and maintaining files and account documentation Reviewing records for accuracy and completeness Performing general clerical duties associated with collection accounts Maintaining compliance with office policies and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) Applicants should possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to complete assigned work accurately and in a timely manner. Basic computer, data-entry, and communication skills are necessary. Prior experience in collections or a law office is helpful but is not required for an otherwise qualified candidate.
