Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and personable HOA Collections Specialist with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling difficult conversations and working both independently and as part of a team. This position involves communicating with community association managers and debtors regarding outstanding balances, payment arrangements, procedures, and fees. The role also includes administrative and legal support under the direction of an attorney. Responsibilities Contact debtors by phone and email regarding outstanding balances Negotiate and establish payment arrangements professionally Review and manage accounts to ensure timely collections Accurately calculate balances, payments, interest, fees, and payment arrangements Track and update account information using accounting/billing software Maintain accurate records of communications, payments, time, and expenses Document correspondence and account activity for clients Prepare, review, and edit letters and documents under attorney direction Assist with filing, mail processing, and general office duties Work with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies Provide professional and respectful customer service when addressing account questions Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in collections or a role involving difficult customer/client interactions Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally Strong math skills and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excellent phone etiquette Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to learn new software, including Timeslips Preferred Qualifications Previous legal assistant experience Some college coursework Experience with accounting or billing software Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures Basic understanding of real estate transactions What We're Looking For We are looking for a "people person" who is organized, dependable, and comfortable navigating challenging conversations. $17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 39.0 per week
