Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position within the insurance industry, focusing on collections. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounts, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring timely payments in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the collection of outstanding payments, including commercial and consumer accounts.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in billing and payment processes.
- Communicate effectively with clients to negotiate payment arrangements and clarify account details.
- Monitor and update records of overdue accounts to ensure accurate tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline collection workflows and improve efficiency.
- Review and assess account histories to determine appropriate collection methods.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations throughout the collection process.
- Prepare reports on collection activities and account progress.
- Assist in reducing backlog by prioritizing high-impact accounts.
- Provide excellent customer service while addressing payment concerns. Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
- Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes.
- Familiarity with billing and account reconciliation procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using collection-related tools and software.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
