Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position within the insurance industry, focusing on collections. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounts, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring timely payments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the collection of outstanding payments, including commercial and consumer accounts.
• Analyze and resolve discrepancies in billing and payment processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to negotiate payment arrangements and clarify account details.
• Monitor and update records of overdue accounts to ensure accurate tracking.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline collection workflows and improve efficiency.
• Review and assess account histories to determine appropriate collection methods.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations throughout the collection process.
• Prepare reports on collection activities and account progress.
• Assist in reducing backlog by prioritizing high-impact accounts.
• Provide excellent customer service while addressing payment concerns. Requirements
• Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes.
• Familiarity with billing and account reconciliation procedures.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using collection-related tools and software.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
