This is a hands-on role for someone who wants substantially more responsibility than a traditional entry-level finance position. You will own recurring financial reporting, accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable tracking, reconciliations and financial data accuracy while also supporting contracts, compliance and finance-related administrative processes. The role is designed to develop into a Finance Manager position as the company grows, ultimately working closely with and reporting into the CFO organization. We are looking for someone who is analytical, exceptionally organized, comfortable communicating with executives and customers, and willing to take ownership rather than wait for instructions. What You'll Own Maintain and update daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting. Manage accounts payable , invoice processing, vendor records and payment schedules. Manage customer billing and invoicing and maintain accurate billing records. Maintain the accounts receivable tracker , follow up on outstanding invoices and present AR status to management. Perform bank, credit-card, billing and general financial reconciliations . Maintain supporting schedules for revenue, expenses, payroll and cash-flow reporting. Help prepare monthly management financial packages and operating reports. Identify discrepancies and independently work through them to resolution. Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets models, dashboards and automated reporting workflows . Use automation and AI tools to reduce manual finance work and improve reporting accuracy. Maintain organized financial documentation and audit trails. Support basic financial controls, compliance requests, insurance documentation, tax support and audit preparation . Track contracts, renewal dates, payment terms and financial obligations. Assist with customer and vendor contracts from a financial and administrative perspective. Work with company leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash planning and financial analysis. Present financial information clearly to executives and other stakeholders. Continuously improve how Odesso runs its finance function. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or a closely related field . Approximately 0-2 years of professional experience ; strong recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills. Excellent numerical reasoning and attention to detail. Comfortable investigating inconsistencies rather than simply reporting them. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to confidently present financial information and explain what the numbers mean. Highly organized with strong follow-through. Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and workstreams. Strong interpersonal judgment and professionalism when dealing with customers, vendors and executives. Self-starter who identifies what needs to be done and takes ownership of it. Comfortable working in a growing company where processes are still being built. Must be able to work onsite in Phoenix . Preferred Qualifications Any of the following are helpful but not required: Internship or early-career experience in finance, accounting, audit, FP&A, banking or corporate accounting. CPA-track coursework or CPA eligibility. CMA candidate or related accounting/finance certification. FMVA or similar financial-analysis training. Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex or similar finance platforms. Experience with Power BI, Tableau or financial dashboards. Experience using automation, AI or workflow tools. Exposure to contracts, audit, compliance or healthcare/technology companies. Who Will Succeed Here This role is best suited for someone who wants to build a finance career quickly . You may begin by reconciling transactions, issuing invoices and updating an AR report, but over time we expect you to understand the business behind the numbers, identify problems before management does, improve our financial processes and ultimately take ownership of a meaningful portion of the company's finance operation.
