Payment Poster

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Payment Poster to support a busy Business Office team. This position is responsible for accurately posting patient and insurance payments, preparing payment batches, posting approved denials, reviewing Explanation of Benefits statements, and assisting with payment reconciliation. This is a great opportunity for someone with medical billing, payment posting, revenue cycle, EOB/ERA, or strong data entry experience who enjoys accuracy-focused work in an office environment.

Onsite Responsibilities Post patient and insurance payments accurately into the billing system. Prepare and process payment batches. Review insurance Explanation of Benefits statements and post payments accordingly. Access and import ERA/Electronic Remittance Advice files as part of the payment cycle. Track payment deposits and reconcile payment details. Run daily posting summary reports and balance them to cash receipt summaries. Post denials as approved by management. Research discrepancies, credits, overpayments, and underpayments. Assist with audits, denied claims, invalid claims, and rebilling as needed. Maintain accurate notes and entries in the billing system. Protect confidential patient, financial, and company information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Notify management of discrepancies, system issues, and important updates. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of medical billing experience preferred. Experience with payment posting, EOBs, ERAs, denials, or insurance payments is a plus. Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general database systems. Ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities. Strong communication and customer service skills. Dependable, organized, and professional. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be comfortable handling confidential patient and financial information.
