Duties Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Review patient records for completeness and verify insurance coverage and benefits prior to billing Code diagnoses and procedures accurately using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding standards Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes and resubmit as necessary Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, patient records, and correspondence with insurance companies Ensure compliance with healthcare claims management policies and stay updated on changes in health insurance regulations Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and resolve discrepancies efficiently Experience Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare claims management within a medical office setting Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and health insurance procedures Familiarity with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications Experience handling medical collections and resolving claim denials effectively Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, DRG classifications, and healthcare reimbursement processes Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Prior work in a fast-paced medical office environment is preferred Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist to play a crucial role in delivering seamless financial operations within our healthcare organization.
