The ideal candidate should have already graduated from school, and should have a strong background in accounting and financial services, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for managing accounts receivable, ensuring accurate billing processes, and maintaining financial records such as bookeeping. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely billing of clients. Prepare, review, and process monthly pre-bills and final invoices in accordance with firm and client guidelines. Submit and track electronic invoices through Clio, our e-billing platform. Resolve billing discrepancies and disputed invoices in collaboration with attorneys, clients, and accounting. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid invoices as needed. Assist attorneys with time entry corrections and adjustments to ensure accurate billing. Maintain accurate billing records, reports, and client billing requirements. Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and vendors. Process vendor invoices and ensure clients are billed accordingly. Prepare analysis of client accounts and produce monthly reports. Create and send invoices and supporting documentation to clients. Process journal entries and maintain accurate financial records. Conduct data entry and account reconciliation. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve billing issues. Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial statements. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding billing and payments. Requirements At least 6-months of legal billing experience. Open availability and is not currently in school. Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Proficiency with billing software such as Clio. High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or corporate accounting roles. Strong analytical skills for account analysis and reconciliation tasks. Familiarity with revenue cycle management processes is a plus. Exceptional negotiation skills for managing collections effectively. Strong math skills to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle client communications professionally. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
