4-5 days per weekOffice Hours:
M-Th 8:00am-5:00pm and Fri 7:00am- 3:30pmPosition Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Dental Billing Specialist to support the financial operations of our practice. This role focuses on patient and insurance billing, account follow-up, and providing clear, professional communication to patients regarding their financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of CDT coding, dental insurance processes, and experience with both general dentistry and orthodontics. This position works closely with the Office Manager and front office team to help keep accounts current and operations running smoothly.Key Responsibilities:
Review and follow up on patient and insurance accounts receivable, including aging reports Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and send billing statements Work insurance aging reports, including calling insurance companies on unpaid or delayed claims Submit and track insurance claims and pre-authorizations Accurately apply CDT codes for dental and orthodontic procedures Answer patient billing questions and assist with general office phone calls Assist with posting payments (checks and EFTs) as needed Set up and maintain patient payment plans Review and resolve account discrepancies and credits Communicate with the Office Manager regarding account status and follow-up needs Support the front office team with patient check-in and check-out when neededQualifications:
Experience in dental billing Strong knowledge of CDT codes, dental terminology, and insurance processes Advanced understanding of dental insurance plans, benefits, and claims processing Experience with pre-authorizations, payment posting, claim follow-up, denials, and collections Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong numerical and analytical skills Clear and professional communication skills with patients and team members Ability to follow office systems, protocols, and direction Understanding of both general dentistry and orthodontic proceduresBenefits
