Job Description

Position Summary The Charge Master / Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, coordinating, and maintaining charge master activities to support accurate revenue cycle operations. This role performs complex charge entry and billing-related functions, ensuring outpatient charges are entered accurately and timely into the billing system while maintaining compliance with established procedures, guidelines, and organizational standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and advanced data entry skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Review, analyze, and coordinate charge master activities to support revenue cycle accuracy and efficiency. Accurately enter outpatient charges into the billing system in a timely manner. Validate charge data to ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance with established billing guidelines and procedures. Perform routine and moderately complex revenue cycle functions within defined parameters and established workflows. Identify and resolve charge discrepancies, billing inconsistencies, and documentation issues. Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across billing and revenue cycle systems. Collaborate with internal departments to clarify charge-related questions and support operational needs. Follow established procedures, policies, and daily work instructions. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to charge capture and billing accuracy. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or business-related education preferred. Prior experience in healthcare revenue cycle, billing, charge entry, or charge master operations preferred. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to review and analyze billing and charge information efficiently. Proficiency with billing systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidelines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule Evening Shift:
5 x 8-hour shifts Typical schedule: Monday through Friday Possible weekend coverage as needed
Hours:
4:00 PM - 12:30 AM Preferred Skills Knowledge of healthcare billing and revenue cycle processes. Familiarity with outpatient charge entry and charge reconciliation. Experience working with high-volume data entry and billing systems. Strong attention to accuracy, compliance, and workflow efficiency.
