Job Description

We are seeking a Billing Assistant with a strong financial background to support our revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Artisan EMR and eIVF , and a solid understanding of medical billing in a fertility or women's health setting. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and timely billing of patient accounts, insurance claims processing, and payment posting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with daily billing for fertility-related services, including IVF, IUI, lab testing, and surgical procedures. Submit electronic and paper insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), identify claim denials or underpayments, and initiate follow-up with payers. Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately. Respond to insurance and patient inquiries regarding billing, balances, and payment plans. Verify patient insurance benefits and fertility coverage. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, fertility-specific coding, and prior authorization requirements. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation or coding discrepancies. Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables. Prepare patient statements and assist with prepayment estimates and financial counseling when needed. Comply with HIPAA, billing regulations, and all clinic policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Medical Billing/Coding preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a fertility or women's health setting.
Required:
Experience using Artisan EMR and eIVF software.
Strongly Preferred:
Financial background or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or revenue cycle management. Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Familiarity with fertility-related billing procedures and payer requirements is highly preferred. Experience with fertility benefit plans (e.g., Progyny, Maven, Carrot, WINFertility) is a plus. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay:
$22.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
