At Physical Dimensions IHG, we are dedicated to delivering holistic, patient-centered care that empowers individuals to achieve optimal physical health and well-being. Our practice specializes in integrative healthcare, blending conventional medicine with evidence-based alternative therapies. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our administrative team on part-time basis. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical records to ensure they meet commercial insurance and Medicare compliance standards, as well as executing accurate coding and billing practices to support consistent clinic revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment along with experience in physical therapy, chiropractic and family medicine.Key Responsibilities:
Review and audit medical records to ensure compliance with commercial insurance and Medicare standards Accurately assign and review ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on patient documentation Submit and manage insurance claims through electronic medical records and billing platforms Monitor accounts receivable and follow up in a timely manner on denied or unpaid claims Ensure timely patient billing, generate statements, and address billing inquiries Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including pre-authorizations as needed Maintain compliance with HIPAA and industry regulations Stay current on updates to coding guidelines and insurance billing procedures Communicate with practice leadership, providers and staff to ensure documentation supports submitted codesQualifications:
Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a medical billing/coding role Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, clearing house systems and billing platforms Knowledge of insurance policies, reimbursement policies and billing guidelines, including Medicare High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred previous experience working in an integrative or physical medicine healthcare settingJob Type:
