Adaptability Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Collection Compliance - Compliance Representative position requires a dedicated and motivated individual who can work harmoniously with other employees of BC Services, Inc. and has the ability to adapt to changes of policies, procedures and work instructions driven by regulatory updates and case law. The position requires an individual who is detail oriented and can apply knowledge of the FDCPA and FCRA to locate and find trends with regard to consumer disputes etc., which drive changes to procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 in the collections industry preferred
- 2 to 3 years administration responsibilities
- Education - High school diploma, Associate Degree preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve.
- Work Independently
- Ability to communicate effectively - attention to detail with the written word.
- Knowledge of FCRA and FDCPA compliance regulations.
- Must be a team player, open to new ideas and personable Essential functions and responsibilities: Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform clerical tasks i.e. answering incoming calls to general inquiries from collectors, consumers, attorneys and bankruptcy Trustees.
- Process consumer disputes received via credit bureau, mail, fax and email, thoroughly investigating those consumer disputes to address consumer concerns, and preparing detailed/professional responses to consumers outlining the investigation and outcome reached.
- Review and respond to consumer disputes received through the credit bureau.
- Application of the FDCPA and FCRA when processing consumer disputes.
- Conduct research of account related issues in client systems.
- Process client responses to consumer disputes.
- Work compliance dispositions.
- Work closely with other departments - legal, client services and collections departments.
- Review collector and consumer emails in outlook.
- Utilize IDI to search and update consumer demographic information.
- Process trustee demand letters.
- Utilize PACER to locate and verify bankruptcy filings as well as file proof of claims.
Perform other duties as assigned
