Responsibilities Prepare and submit medical claims accurately using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Review and code medical procedures and diagnoses utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding standards Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through medical collections efforts and communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and health insurance information to ensure proper billing procedures Maintain detailed medical records, including documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and billing history Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations and updates in medical coding standards Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing statements and payment options Skills Proficiency in medical coding including ICD-10, DRG, and ICD coding systems Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, healthcare claims management, and medical billing processes Office and Hospital Billing a must Experience with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting purposes Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management Ability to navigate complex healthcare claims procedures with attention to accuracy and compliance Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance providers, and team members Prior experience in medical office settings or healthcare environments is highly desirable Join us as a Medical Billing Specialist to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional financial operations within a supportive healthcare environment.
