In this role, you will support the billing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation. Your proactive approach will help maintain healthy client relationships and optimize cash flow. Duties Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue invoices via phone, email, or other communication channels with professionalism and courtesy. Process billing transactions using various financial software platforms such as Quick Books, Sage, and specialized billing systems to ensure accuracy. Perform data entry tasks with high precision, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and updating client records in accounting systems like People Soft and accounting software. Assist in preparing financial reports by analyzing spreadsheets, applying Excel formulas, and conducting Excel data analysis to support account analysis and reporting needs. Support accounts payable and receivable functions by verifying transactions, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries or payment issues while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards. Contribute to month-end closing activities through double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements. Experience Previous experience in accounting or finance roles involving accounts receivable management or collections is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with accounting concepts such as debits & credits, account reconciliation, credit analysis, and technical accounting principles is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—and experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis techniques are essential. Knowledge of financial software such as Quick Books, Sage, People Soft or similar systems will help you excel in this role. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and account management tasks are required. Excellent communication skills for client interaction coupled with professional phone etiquette are vital for success in this position. Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently supports smooth processing of high-volume transactions.
