  • Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the insurance billing process between the medical office, insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve billing issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient claims to ensure accuracy of insurance information, coding, and procedures prior to submission.
  • Submit claims through clearing houses and verify successful transmission to insurance companies.
  • Investigate and resolve rejected or denied claims and resubmit in a timely manner.
  • Post payments to patient accounts and adjust balances including credits, debits, and write-offs when necessary.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, government agencies, and third-party payers to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient account information to prevent claim delays or denials.
  • Review accounts to ensure procedures are properly coded and charges are correct.
  • Document all communication related to patient accounts and insurance claims.
  • Stay informed about updates in Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Billing Manager and office staff to resolve billing discrepancies. Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing procedures.
  • Understanding of commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with patients and staff. Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with CPT and ICD10 coding.
  • Experience with electronic medical records; e clinical works(eCW) preferred. Benefits
