About the Role The Billing Specialist supports the accuracy and efficiency of Meridian's billing operations. This role is responsible for processing claims, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and compliant billing activities. Key Responsibilities Process and manage billing functions, including insurance and contract billing Submit claims electronically and via paper as needed Review and resolve claim denials and follow up accordingly Maintain and monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports Post payments, adjustments, deductibles, and copayments accurately Reconcile payments against Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) Maintain accurate client account records within the EMR system Process refunds and resolve credit balances Ensure proper application of copays and deductibles Support team functions and assist with additional billing tasks as needed
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Associate degree in Business or related field (preferred) OR High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of billing, clerical, or clinical setting experience
Additional Requirements:
Minimum typing speed of 27 WPM (validated via assessment) Minimum score of 65% on general assessment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills What You'll Love About Working at
