Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist with an understanding of Personal Injury to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate payment posting, AR follow up and opening mail. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical records management to support efficient revenue cycle operations. Prior experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly preferred, along with proficiency in medical terminology and coding standards such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT.

Required Skills:

Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using appropriate ICD and CPT Review medical records to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims to facilitate prompt resolution and payment Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR/EHR systems Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries Opening mail and processing and posting payments Assist in the collection of outstanding balances through effective follow-up procedures Ensure confidentiality and security of all medical records and billing information Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administrative roles Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding systems Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and documentation purposes Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and medical collections Ability to interpret medical documentation accurately for coding purposes Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to healthcare operations while developing your expertise in medical billing and coding.
